Worlds Within Collection
The drawing entitled, The Facade of Time, celebrates the 'now' as the holder of all time, where the past and future fuse into the present. In the drawing, one sees an architectural ecosystem that presents this paradox of how architecture, as life, is made through time, yet exists outside of its constructs — as always in the 'now'. For example, a city skyline may reveal different architectural styles from different eras of time, at that moment of perception time fuses and unites such styles together in the 'now' — so the skyline stands as a timeless wonder. This drawing, The Facade of Time, simultaneously captures this necessity of time for creation while also exploring its absence for perception. Questions emerge as: Is time a facade? Or is what we perceive the 'facade' of time?
The Facade of Time is part of the Worlds Within collection of ink with graphite drawings that depict environments as "vessels" of self-actualization — where each imagined world is a drawing of hidden realities that nurtures wonder toward the pursuit and realization of one's most ideal self. Each place becomes a catalyst that drives one toward highest levels of human potential, all while evoking a sense of wonder through curiosity and awe that helps each person to keep moving forward through life.
