Maria Lorena Lehman is a foresight architect with a passion for environmental design informed by leading-edge research. By fusing design-science with science-fiction, Maria Lorena Lehman uses a variety of mediums to explore and experiment with ideas, theories, and research questions in ways that help create better futures for our world. The following architectural design research case studies are investigations that use design tools, mediums, and processes in innovative ways. Through CGI visualizations, animations, watercolors, 3D-prints, AI visualizations, and even micrography, Maria Lorena Lehman strives to set new horizons that extend beyond the limitations of our current world to disrupt how we perceive the "now". Thus, these architectural design research initiatives serve to inform how we as a humanity can accelerate our positive impact so all thrive.

Each case study (shown below) represents a research track dedicated to the exploration of a series of related inquiries. Research methods for each case varies as different research questions, mediums, tools, and processes call for unique approaches. Findings from case studies are disseminated through MLL ATELIER and through Maria Lorena Lehman's publications, teachings, and visionary design projects.
